HEALTHCARE

Overview

During this Module, you have studied the importance of administrative ethics and the lessons you have learned from various leaders over your career. Now consider the ways this knowledge might apply to the leadership topic you selected for your Final Project. What does the literature that you reviewed in Module 2 suggest leaders should do to address your leadership challenge and initiate positive change? What obstacles do you anticipate you might encounter as you plan and implement an intervention in your own HSO? How might the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research or the Relational Leadership Model guide you in your efforts?

As you consider potential interventions, think about how you might address both immediate problems and the underlying factors that created them to initiate changes that are equitable and sustainable.

For this part of your Final Project, you will use the scholarly literature on organizational improvement in healthcare leadership that you selected in Module 2 to create an audio presentation of your findings. You will analyze the evidence base for interventions to address your leadership challenge and apply the findings to your own HSO. Your presentation will also include an analysis of intervention adaptations to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and an evaluation of strategies to motivate teams to initiate positive change.

To complete this section of your Final Project:

  • Record a 15–20-minute audio recording that addresses the following:
    • Discuss the findings of your literature search.
    • Explain where the areas of organizational improvement are within the literature.
    • Explain how the organizational improvement initiatives that you researched might apply to your selected HSO.
    • Explain how you, as a leader, could adapt the initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within your selected HSO.
    • From a leadership perspective, explain some strategies that you might utilize to organize, lead, and motivate the appropriate teams to initiate change based on your research.
  • In addition to your audio recording, provide a 1- to 2-page outline of your talking points and a reference page for all sources that were used to prepare your recording.

Your TED Talk should be audio only. No video is required.
