Weekly Assignment
Unlike EHR systems, there is no certifying body for enterprise content and record management (ECRM) systems used in healthcare organizations. Most of these systems are not clearly designed for healthcare, or when they are, they include or are included in EMR and EHR software. Therefore, when choosing ECRM systems, it is necessary to consult with the existing hospital information system or practice management system vendor as to what software they would recommend; or simply to browse the Web and professional journals to identify the product appropriate for your organization.
For this week’s assignment, we will research ECRM systems. Remember that "ECRM" is an umbrella term that includes a variety of other systems, as described in our textbook.
When performing your research, note that "ECRM" stands for "electronic customer relationship management system," and it is NOT the topic of this assignment. This assignment topic is ECRM systems (enterprise content and record management).
Part 1 - Search the Web to identify three vendors providing ECRM systems and describe/comment on the following:
- Vendor name
- ECRM name
- ECRM function (e.g., EDM, ERM, etc.)
- Justify three strengths and three weaknesses.
- Examples of organizations that use this ECRM
Please respond in a table format.
Part 2 - Choose two of the products identified in Part 1 and compare them in terms of:
- Use of cloud computing
- Content management capability
- Compliance with HL7 CDA
- Integration with EHR
