write me a 400 word report there will be three topics and choose one

Overview

Students are required to write an individual report that demonstrates their in-depth understanding and critical analysis of their chosen topic. Your report should include an extensive review of the academic literature to inform your critical analysis and discussion.

Students can choose their topic area from the following list:

  • Leading and Influencing Effectively
  • The Future of Work: Challenges for People Profession and Practice
  • Individual Differences at Work: Implications for People Professionals for Managing and Developing People
  • Researching your topic:

You will be expected to demonstrate considerable wider reading around your chosen topic using credible sources. This includes academic journal articles, newspaper articles, industry reports and case studies. You may also use databases like Google Scholar, the CIPD library, and websites (e.g., The Conversation) to find critical and contemporary arguments.

    Additional Guidance:

    1. Evaluate the evolution of thought in your chosen topic area over the past decade. How have key concepts or approaches shifted, and what factors (e.g., technological advances, socio-political changes) have driven these shifts?

    2. Identify areas of consensus and contention among academic scholars in the field. How do these alignments and disagreements shape the future research and practice direction in your topic?

    3. Balance theory and practice. Avoid lengthy summaries of theories or organisations; instead, focus on analysing how theory informs practice and how practice challenges or extends theory.

    4. Integrate evidence. Use academic literature as your foundation, but also connect your arguments to case studies, contemporary industry examples, and (where appropriate) reflective personal experience to demonstrate real-world application.

    5. Analyse, don’t just describe. Evaluate and discuss areas of agreement and debate in the literature, and analyse how these shape professional practice.

    6. Where appropriate, critically evaluate how your topic relates to broader HRM themes — for example, organisational culture, organisational change, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing and happiness Aim not only to highlight connections but also to provide analysis of their complexities and implications.

    7. Ensure your report is well-structured and logically developed, with a clear flow of ideas and arguments. Include a cover page (exclude identifiable information), include table of contents, add page numbers, use headings and subheadings for sections, and maintain consistent font type and size throughout the report.

    8. Conduct thorough research and cite credible academic references throughout. Provide correct in-text citations and a full reference list.

NB: Do not copy images without acknowledging their source.
