Writing tips:
- Make sure your report has an appropriate Introduction, Analysis, and Conclusion.
- Make sure to proofread the final submission to catch any grammar, spelling, and punctuation issues (e.g., citations are placed before the period).
- Make sure to use singular pronouns for company names (e.g., McDonald’s is an “it” not “they”) and capitalize the first letter of company names (e.g., Instagram).
- Make sure to include visuals/charts/tables in your assignment and label them (e.g., Figure 1) with a reference in your final paper (e.g., see Figure 1). You can move figures around paragraphs to avoid having a figure split pages.
- A point can not be in multiple quadrants in your SWOT Chart. You can discuss how it can be related to or impacted by other SWOT areas, but in the chart, all bullet points must be mutually exclusive and only in one quadrant.
- Understand the difference between when you use "which" and when you use "that."
- If you use "which" to add contextual information that is not essential to the sentence, then you have to put a comma before the "which."
- If the information is essential, then replace "which" with "that" and do not add a comma.
- Make sure to use credible sources to support your positions and cite them properly with a reference page. Make sure to put quotation marks around direct quotes to avoid the appearance of plagiarism. Turnitin will be used to review your assignment. It would be better to avoid direct quotes (especially long ones) and paraphrase the information with a citation. Those are two different things:
- Direct quote with citation = using someone else’s words with attribution of the direct quote
- Paraphrasing with citation = using your own words with attribution of the source material
