Overview
- Develop a Complete Social Media Strategy:
- Brand Definition: Summarize what you want people to think of when they hear your brand. For example, "Target is a reasonably priced outlet for cutting-edge design, fashion, and housewares."
- Audience Persona: Create a detailed profile of your target audience. This should be specific and narrowly defined. For example, "JetBlue's buyer persona is a budget-conscious traveler seeking comfort and affordability, typically younger and engaged through social media."
- Local Target Market: Expand on your audience persona using data from your target market assignment. Include any relevant data from SimplyAnalytics or ESRI. Explain if your target market aligns with your expectations.
- Competitive Analysis: Summarize your findings from the competitive analysis. Use slides to present what you’ve learned about your competition and how it impacts your social media strategy.
- Opportunities and Threats: Identify the opportunities and threats that social media presents for your brand (part of a SWOT analysis).
- SMART Social Media Objectives:
- Set at least two SMART objectives: One communication objective and one business objective. Use the objectives from the SMART Objective assignment. Provide only the objectives in your write-up. Attach the template if you used one, but the template itself is not the objective.
- KPIs: Include Key Performance Indicators for your objectives. Your communication objective and KPI should focus on social media. For example, "Increase use of coupons from Instagram by 50% by the end of the year."
- Choose a Social Channel:
- Identify a social media channel that will help you achieve your SMART goals. Explain why this channel is effective for your brand, considering your audience persona. (Reference links are available in the module.)

- Is my audience on this platform? If not, will they be after my strategy is implemented?
- How is my audience using this platform?
