Overview
Pick any piece of a text (needn't be a whole article!) we've read in these first two weeks that contains a philosophical argument, i.e., that reasons toward a conclusion. (Bloomfield, Descartes, Nguyen, and the Philosophy Tube video might be good options to choose a segment of.)
For your selected text, your task is to analyse the argument. This means that you have to state and explain in your own words what the argument is that the author is making and how it works. (You should not be simply copying and pasting big chunks of the text. However, you may quote phrases selectively in order to illustrate a point, so long as you explain in your own words what role that quote plays in the argument).
This involves, at minimum, explaining the answers to the following questions: What argument is the author making? That is, what conclusion is the author trying to establish, and what premises/arguments does the author rely on to establish that conclusion?
