Instructions:
Throughout this course, you will complete a full treatment plan based on the I CAN START model. You will turn in sections each week for feedback and make corrections before turning in the final plan in Unit 7.
Choose a fictional character or historical figure about whom you know enough to provide a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Use the provided template to use to complete the assignment. The final treatment plan must use the template provided (based on APA format) and include a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources (published within the last 10 years) cited and referenced in your final project. Each unit’s draft should be submitted as a completed, edited draft and not as a rough draft.The (I) section of the I CAN START conceptual framework is a vital part of the treatment plan and prepares counselors for approaching clients with openness and humility. It addresses who you are as a counselor, and how are your personal and professional qualities and factors related to your work with clients. Knowing yourself as a counselor can help you prepare for potential areas of connection or difference with a client, including areas that may be sensitive to countertransference.
The Individual (I) section often includes (but is not limited to) the following: your demographics (McClenan County); training (6 years in Case Managment, Mobile Crisis Outreach, Client's Rights Officer; scope of practice (LPC-A - adults); theoretical orientation, structure (person-center, CBT, and style of counseling; your demeanor (affable, calm, friendly) ; your culture (popular culture) , religion (Raised Jewish and coverted to Christianity in adulthood), and family of origin background (married 30 years, 1 young adult son. I am the youngest of 4 children living in one stableh ome from childhood to young adult )
It also can be informed by your personal growth processes and your character structure.
