ROOTS OF CONTEMPORARY THEMES AND THEORIES

Developmental psychology is a relatively new science and yet there have been significant contributors to the field. In this course, you have learned about some of the “giants” who contributed to developmental theories and shaped the themes and theories being developed today. For this activity, you will choose a theme that drives current research and theorizing and connect those giants you learned about with what is currently being developed.

- Review Chapter 9 of the Miller course text as well as this week’s Learning Resources. From the chapter, select one of the four themes driving theorizing and research today.
- Using the Walden Library, locate a current research article that reflects one of the current developmental psychology themes and theorieS
Assignment- a brief description of the theme you selected and share your thoughts about how earlier theories may have contributed to contemporary theories and research, such as the one you located in the library. Limit your post to no more than two paragraphs.
