Introduction
The goal of this final assessment is to reflect on all that you've learned during this class. You've spent a lot of time reflecting on your learning, emotional responses to course materials, and thinking about how course materials map onto your everyday experience. This final assignment is a polished reflection on your growth process this term!
Directions
Throughout the class, you have been tasked with posting regularly to the Padlet you created at the beginning of the class. For this final assessment, you will double-check your progress from the midterm check-in and make any changes I suggested in my feedback. You will also need to make sure you've created submissions from the second half of the class.
Module Posts
Make sure that you have, at minimum, ten posts from the eleven modules. Be sure to label the post with the module you are posting about. As a refresher, here are your options for module posts (choose one for each post):
Prompt One: Outside Content
Post outside content that is related to what we've learned in class. This can be a website, a video clip, a podcast, a book, a piece of art, etc. In the post description, tell me how it relates to course concepts in the module and why you thought of this source as you learned the module material.
Prompt Two: Personal Experience
Share an experience you had in your personal life that can be viewed through or explained by the module materials. Describe a theory or concept from the module and then describe your personal experience, in detail, explaining how the theory or concept is connected.
Prompt Three: Two Things You've Learned
Tell me two things you've learned in this module that you weren't aware of before you took the class. Start by describing what you learned in detail. Then, explain why each thing stands out to you and why you think it is important. To establish their importance, you might consider how each thing is relevant to your life or what they tell you about things going on in the world today.
Prompt Four: Feelings
Share an aspect (or aspects) of the module that evoked feelings in you. Describe that aspect in detail and then explain what you felt. Why do you think the content evoked these emotions? Is what you learned connected to other things that have happened in your life? Is it connected to other things you've learned? You will need to provide a somewhat in-depth description of your feelings for this prompt. Simply saying that something made you angry wouldn't be enough- you'd need to be able to describe where that anger stems from, why it matters, how it's connected to what you learned, etc.
Revision
To wrap up, please review your submitted posts and make sure each of them conforms to the requirements described in the Padlet Midterm Check-in directions. Please review the "Formatting and Evaluation section" carefully.
You should also review any feedback I left on your Padlet Midterm Check-in submission. If I noted any changes/updates were required, you will want to make sure you address that feedback.
Final Reflection
Once all of your module posts are prepared, please review everything you posted to your Padlet. Please try to address the following questions:
- Looking back, what theories and/or concepts stand out the most to you? What are the most interesting things you learned?
- What module did you learn that has the most relevance to your life?
- What, if anything, did you learn that challenged what you thought at the beginning of class?
