Overview
Select a particular racial or ethnic minority group covered in the course.
In separate sections:
- Describe the initial contact situation between your choice of a racial or ethnic minority group and the dominant group in society. (e. g. colonization, immigration, slavery.)
- Which theory (Noel Hypothesis or Blauner Hypothesis) best explains the intergroup relations between your choice of a racial or ethnic minority group and the dominant group in society. Provide specific examples to support your choice of hypothesis.
If you choose the Noel Hypothesis:
- How do the three concepts in the Noel hypothesis apply to the relationship between your choice of a racial or ethnic minority group and the dominant group in society?
If you choose the Blauner Hypothesis:
- Blauner identifies two types of minority groups. How does this distinction apply to the relationship between your choice of a racial or ethnic minority group and the dominant group in society?
Your paper double-spaced and should be between 2-3 pages in length, ASA or APA style preferred. 10-12 point font is preferred.
(Cover page is not counted as one of the pages.
You must have a cover page. (Your Name and Paper Title only)
You must use in-text citations, with a minimum of 5 different citations.
You must have a reference page for any in-text citations, with a minimum of 5 different sources from the literature.
Number your pages, but do not number the cover page if possible.
